I knew a teacher who predominately used orange and green for his figure paintings. I've tried to avoid that color combo, even though most of the models were so tan their skin was orange. Nevertheless, this painting required it.I'm slowly getting through "The Art Spirit" by Robert Henri. I've never been sure if his name is pronounced "hen-ree", "hen-ri", or "on-ree" but wikipedia clears it up: Robert Earl Henri (pronounced to rhyme with "buckeye"). Its a very good book so far, and I recommend it to all artists or enthusiasts.
