Animation Desk

My latest animation related project or latest excuse for not doing an actual animation project. I took the top off a small computer desk, cut some scrap wood into a base, and tried to jerry-rig some type of pneumatic support with two door closers. I was going to build a serious light setup, but after pricing out all the little bits, it was cheaper to use a work lamp and this cool little dimmer plug. It's a little wobbly, but I spent less than $50 and the light, dimmer, and desk can be used for other projects. Maybe now that all my excuses have run out, I'll actually do a 2d scene!

Hey - where did you get the pneumatic support? I was thinking of doing something similar but with my bed and use the box underneath for storage.

Thanks,

Nic

hey Nic

I got the door supports at Lowes or Home Depot. I don't think they are meant to support much weight- just keep a screen door ajar. I might add these supports to my desk instead. Maybe these might be more appropriate for your project.
